WHY I TEACH
There’s nothing quite like watching someone come alive when they reconnect with their creativity—and that’s exactly why I teach. My studio is a light-filled, joyful space filled with color, art, and shelves of well-loved books. It’s where inspiration lives, and sharing it with others brings me deep joy. When you walk through the door, I hope you feel welcomed, inspired, and ready to create.

Her studio is a delightful space, classes are intimate, and she is a patient and encouraging teacher, even taking time to give me tips after class when I’m working on projects at home. I will be taking more classes!” -A.G.

“We are so lucky to have a treasure like Diane in West Seattle! I have taken two classes in her beautiful West Seattle studio and have learned something new each time. She adapts her teaching method to each student to ensure everyone has an opportunity to learn and grow. Highly recommend for anyone who wants to expand their artistic skills while being surrounded by others that want go dive into their creativity. “ S.M.
“I have zero artistic ability. Zilch. But seeing an artist at work is better than anything in this world. I took a beginner block printing class with Diane, and it was clear her gifts don’t just extend to her artistry, but to talents as a teacher.Watching her work, explain, demonstrate was …just…so cool! And then she encouraged this amoeba-level talent of mine to cut out the cutest little undersea scene that printed out fabulously. I created art! Me!I left that session feeling proud and enthralled.” -L.S.
“If you are curious about block printing I highly recommend taking a class from Diane! She is knowledgeable, patient and since the classes are small is able to address individual student needs. I had such fun in her class and she even let me stay for a while afterwards troubleshooting a project of mine. She has a wealth of knowledge and is happy to share it. Take a class! You will have a blast! “ -D.M.
“I have taken both a beginner and “ going further” print making class with Diane and would recommend to anybody interested in a new creative hobby. I came in with a bit of a creative background and found that Diane was able to adjust her teaching style to someone who is both more advanced or very beginner to keep everyone engaged. And her backyard studio is a lovely place to learn.” -D.C.
